Oakland police have apprehended and charged a suspect in connection with a $30,000 robbery at a Bank of America ATM, court records reveal. The incident occurred on March 29 at the Bank of America branch located on Bancroft Avenue in East Oakland. According to authorities, the victim, who had just deposited $11,000, was in possession of an additional $30,000 in a black garbage bag when he noticed a customer at the adjacent ATM casting a glance in his direction.
Allegedly, the customer left momentarily but returned brandishing a firearm, robbing the victim of the entire $30,000. The entire incident was captured on the bank’s security cameras, which proved instrumental in identifying the suspect, a 25-year-old individual. Following the identification, law enforcement arrested the suspect at his residence in Oakland.
