Delta Launches Probe After Thieves Dig Tunnel to ‘Steal Beer’ at Southerton Brewery
Delta Beverages has launched an investigation following an alleged attempt by unknown individuals to illegally access the Southerton brewery through a pre-existing stormwater drainage tunnel.
This alarming discovery prompted Delta Beverages to contact the police to investigate and assess the potential security threat.
The tunnel is suspected to have been used to steal beverages from within Delta’s premises.

Delta Beverages has issued an official statement to provide clarity on an alleged illegal attempt by criminals to access its Southerton brewery.
The company revealed that it has since launched an investigation.
The tunnel was reportedly discovered on Monday 17 February 2025 by Delta employees.
“Delta Beverages Private Limited, a leading manufacturer of lagers in Zinibabwe, is currently investigating alleged attempt by unknown persons to illegally access premises at Southerton brewery through a pre-existing water storm drainage tunnel. The incident, which was discovered on 17 February 2025 by Delta Beverages employees, has not caused disruption to our operations.”
Delta Beverages revealed that they are collaborating with the police and relevant authorities to verify a recent report concerning potential threats to its operations. The company emphasized its commitment to the safety and security of its employees, facilities, and assets.
“We are working closely with the police and responsible authorities to determine the veracity of the report and the possible motive and identity of the perpetrators. We take the safety and security of our employees, facilities, and our assets very seriously. We are cooperating fully with all responsible authorities involved in the investigation and are conducting our standard incident management and review processes.”
Delta Beverages is urging anyone with information regarding the recent incident to come forward and reach out to either the police or the company directly.
